** Utilization: Percentage of hourly wage to apply to scanning costs. I.e. if scanner operator can do their regular job (receptionist) while scanning, use 0%. If scanning would reduce their productivity by 40% in their primary job, use 40%. If the scanner operator must devote 100% of their attention (and therefore cost) to scanning, use 100%.

Best bets:

  • Budget: Brother MFC490cw – approx. $129
  • Typical: Xerox Documate 152 – approx. $380
  • High-Speed: Fujitsu 6130 – approx. $995

If you will be scanning your own logs, you will need a scanner. Avoid all flatbed-only and Lexmark scanners.

We generally do not sell scanners direct, but recommend you buy them from a local dealer, CDW, NewEgg or Amazon. If you can’t find one of these scanners, call for recommended TWAIN scanners.
