Recommended Scanners Ensure Optimal Results
All Scanners Are Not Created Equal
While RapidLog can work with almost any TWAIN based scanner, these recommended
models have proven to offer the best performance for the money, and our technicians
have been trained to support them.
Warning! Do NOT use flatbed scanners with RapidLog. They are
designed to scan one document at a time--fine for the occassional picture, but
lousy for stacks of logs.
Best Budget Model: HP OfficeJet 4310/4315 - $99
Scan speeds of 2.5 to 4.6 logs per minute*
Typically priced at $99, these HP models do require a few extra mouse-clicks compared to
dedicated scanners. They are available at most office-supply chain stores. You also get
built-in printer, fax, and photocopy functions as well as scanning. If you can't get an
HP Multifunction, you might try models from Brother as long as they have a multi-sheet
scanning input tray (avoid flatbeds). We do not officially support Brother models, but
many customers have used them successfully.
Best Entry-Level Model: Fujitsu 5110C - $759
Scan speeds of 17 to 31 logs per minute*
Fujitsu makes fast, reliable and durable dedicated scanners. The 5110C is their most
appropriate entry-level model. Priced at $759 direct from us (or from the vendor of your
choice), it costs more than seven times as much as the HP Officejet, but scanning speeds
are typically almost seven times faster than the HP. Highly recommended if you can afford
it at all.
Best Typical-Use Model: Fujitsu 5120C - $995
Scan speeds of 26 to 47 logs per minute*
The next model up in the Fujitsu line is our most popular model, and comes with our
highest recommendation. Even fleets with a hundred logs per day typically come out ahead
in the long-run by purchasing this scanner instead of the 5110C. It is priced at $995
available directly from us or the vendor of your choice.
Best High-Speed Solution: Fujitsu 4530C - $2695
Scan speeds of 36 to 61 logs per minute*
If you want to minimize the time you spend scanning, this is the fastest model we recommend.
Priced at $2695 direct from us, it can scan up to 61 half-page logs per minute.
* Scanning speeds are affected by the speed of your computer, the size of your log (half page
logs scan faster than full page logs), and operating system. All speeds were measured at
our site using mid-level Dell computers and Windows XP. Your speeds may vary.
